Camp Fire Suspended On Fabric?

Post by JesterJosev » Sun Jan 27, 2013 8:34 am

I was watching this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAtBtHvJhn0), and I saw something interesting come into view at around the 30 second mark. A small campfire that appears to be suspended on some fabric. Does anyone know what this material is?

Very interesting. I think I've seen something similar before, but I'm not sure where. It looks very similar to the fabric used for covering the heaters for a round bottom flask. Perhaps from a fire blanket? It must be fiber glass or ceramic fiber. It is sure a leave no trace type of fire pit - fold it up and you are ready to go. Very nice. He also has an interesting wood stove. I would like to take a look at it in person. Also at the beginning is a very cool looking wind screen.

Cool looking fabric. Very nice stove, must be from high class oriental restaurant. The person making the videos sure likes to eat good. I'm going on search for the fabric. :D

Probably something on the order of the material used in a "Fire Shelter"

It sorta makes me wonder about the hidden technologies on this planet that we might not know about. I'd bet with the billions of people out there there is some pretty interesting stuff. I might write a very simple comment on his video such as "Good camp fire. Where buy or aquire?" in hopes that he/she or a view might understand English/"Translate", and perhaps write back.

Jester, you're a lot better at research than I am :D I think I spent an hour but no luck.

As I was going through my photo albums this morning I came accross these photos of a veggie steamer gizmo that I used as a wood burning stove:

Stove making is my hobby and we all gather lots of on one thing or other. We specialize and excell in all forms. Thanks for the compliment. I wish I had the ability to compose and write like you.

I have a folding stove somewhere here in the forums with fiberglass suspension for the wood/coals. I'll see if I can find it.
