My Hello

Post by Perkolady » Mon Jan 14, 2008 12:16 pm

Hi all,
I'm a middle-aged, stay at home mom, who loves backpacking and making (or attempting to make) my own gear. I homeschool my daughters and thankfully, my daughters love backpacking now too! (Gotta pass on the magic!) :D

Home-related stuff usually keeps me pretty busy, but I always manage somehow to get in some time for gear making experiments. (translation: "slight" ADDICTION). ;)
Some things even work out! It's great to use something on the trail that you've made yourself.

It's great to have a site like this one to exchange ideas. I'm impressed by the "lite", encouraging atmosphere here!

We're happy to have you here Perkolady.

We try to keep everything here on the lite side :)

I admire you to be able to homeschool your daughters. Nice to be able to pass on "The Magic" :)

It is so very rewarding to make things yourself and use the items that are made in our every day lives. They take on a special worth when we make them. I find it hard to throw away my failed attemps because they have meaning to me.(time and effort)

We enjoy your meal preparation knowledge (Kitchen Magic) and are gratefull for sharing some of it here. :D

Welcome, Perkolady ! We're happy to have you aboard. This site has great membership with postive and informative information. I find it addicting and entertaining. Good job on passing the "magic" to your daughters.

Welcome!

Making your own gear can be addictive...now if I only I had sewing skills. :D
