I'm well into geezerhood (56) in south Georgia; plan to hike AT some this summer and regularly in the future as time permits so I'm reading as much as I can (ALDHA, ATC, Whiteblaze, etc.) and look forward to learning here too. I have zero know-how so I'm banking on others' smarts rubbing off on me. My son was mortified when I told him I'd soon be wearing my backpack on the treadmill and stairclimber at the Y (it's as flat as a pancake here).

Anyway, this site looks very informative and I'm sure it will helpful.

Keep moving,

Hi Roundabout, welcome to our family of lightweight wannabes. Always striving to make our hikes as light as possible. We have a few geezers here that are in the same neighborhood :D

Hope you do alot of reading of the threads we have here. There is alot of good information on DIY stuff. As we go along more and more great information comes in daily.

Glad to have you here!!!!!
