Another year at Bplite
Re: Another year at Bplite
I would prefer fillet but forgot how, it's been so loooong. I wish I had my fish skinner you sent. I'll have to watch a video or 2 to get back on track. Pickin bones gets old fast

Today a friend of mine from the campground caught 6 nice sized crappies and he showed my how he fillets them with an electric knife. Tomorrow I go out and get an electric knife and a bucket full of fish

It goes so quick with an electric knife and a fillet board with the big clip on the end. I am pretty quick with a fillet knife but was amazed at how quick my brother-in law made short work of a bucket full of crappies with his electric fillet knife. I picked one up as soon as I got back home.

Yesterday I went to the local thrift stores looking for an elec knife but had no luck. I did find a 1" thick kitchen cutting board and a plastic clip board that I will remove the clip and screw it to the wood board. I like thrift stores.
Had lots of rain yesterday all day long. River is running fast, have to wait a few days for it to slow down. The boat dock near by has calm water, will give that area a try. 2 days ago, my fishing friend invited us over for fish dinner. He's the one that showed me how he uses the electric knife. His fillets were tasty
I'll see if I can a photo of the fish cleaning house located next to the boat dock. Got to get more batteries for my camera.

Boat dock pylons usually hold some fish. Have you tried rechargeable batteries in your camera. They don't last as long per use but you save in the long run.

My camera eats batteries. I'm going to start using my apple iphone that I purchased just for photos and videos.
Have not tried the dock pylons yet. It's a busy place, morning, noon and night. Caught some bluegills at the fishing pier pylons.
Raining again all day, river almost over it's banks.

Back in the days when limits allowed more..we used to filet a lot of large salmon/steelhead with the electric knives...but it's not worth getting it out any more.I don't recall if or where I might still even have one...

Once you locate the knife, it will inspire you to go out and get some salmon this spring. Treat your cat to some nice fillets...he/she will love you more for it. Your wife also if you cook her some nice fillets in the traditions of the islands. Get an "America The Beautiful" senior pass to the National Parks and maybe you'll be able to fish their waters half price. Here in the US Army Corps of engineer Recreation Area that we are in, no licence is needed
still have to abide by state fish and game laws as far as limits of fish. I've been creating some fish attracting habitat off one of the fishing piers. There are 2 Rangers that have sunk last years Christmas trees of the ends of the piers. See more info in "the committee" thread.

Cuz, I know you like the salmon and steelhead but a cooler full of crappies, perch or gills make for a great fish fry and would justify digging out that electric fillet knife

I bought an electric at Wallyworld today along with some tackle. Water was moving too fast today, fished for 5 min. and gave up
Weather has gone back to the norm for this time of year. Daytime in the 50's and down to 30 at night. Better days ahead
