Always good to have some helpful tips when making stove.
Where to get materials cheap, what tool is best.
How to do a specific task. Anything that will help.

Caldera cone windscreen closure.

Post by zelph » Thu Sep 27, 2007 2:40 pm

I hav'nt tried this on my caldera cone type windscreen yet. I just came across these two pieces that came off a carry out chinese container. I lost them amongst my stuff and they now just surfaced. I will try the design on a wind screen as a means to connect the ends. Just use the hook and slot part.

I made a quick try at the oriental closure design. It was quick and crude. The good news is "It Works Great" solid closure for sure, easy to insert into slot. Makes for a self contained closure. No need for clasps, buttons, clips or bands. I used the original container for my tracing patterns. I used tin snips to cut the aluminum flashing material.

The only thing easier is the "Skid Magnetica Loc" :D
