Place a Small can of sterno

Works but hardly UL. An alcohol burner would work just as well or an esbit tab.

Oops, I just watched your video and it looks like the Vulcan wood be a good wood burning stove.....what's your opinion on on that? The construction looks beefy enough to get red hot a few times. RR, what do you think about wood in the stove?

i tried to burn wood in it the fire box not tall enough plus it need a feed hole for wood and air i try again later some time. I busy on my solar cooking plus doing a make over on the box one putting on mirrors

I looked at some previous photos and looks like there is stuff inside the stove that needs to be cut out first before it can be used for wood. bummer!!!

It burns the small Can of sterno.......BUT.............
all is not lost If You can find an Alcohol stove that size.
the small Trangia set on an upside down tuna can will work
just as well

I've got a few military size trangia, I'll try one of those and see how it fits. Good idea Username75. Thanks!!!!
I'll have to look at the stove a second time for wood burning now that I've gone to top lighting batch loads.
