Sterno Cook Stove

I like the design of the Sterno with the fold down door. The door has the round hole with air entry regulator. My experience this year burning wood pellets in my wood burning stove has given me insight on how to burn the pellets. If you fill the Sterno with pellets to the right height, pour 1 ounce of fuel in a line left to right at the very front of the stove, light it, shut the door and have the air income hole wide open the pellets shoul get off to a good start. If the stove is drafting well, the incoming air will be as if it has a "fan" assist. Wood fires love air/oxygen. After the pellets have been burning for 5-10 min they generate a lot of heat. Once they've burned off most of the volitals, they well burn red hot like charcoal, the best heat for cooking. While the volitals are burning off you could be heating water with the dirtier flames

I like the baking feature of the duomid double. The top baking section looks like a heat radiator for use in a "hot tent". Yes, I think it would make a nice wood burning stove for a tent. I would make a square basket to hole the twigs vertical so the fire would burn cleaner and slower for a more efficient burn. The twigs could be 2" diameter split almost all the way or maybe split but stacked close together.

I got a 2 burner marine alcohol stove in the restoration process for starts.

I think I got a single burner alcohol/electric combination marine stove with glass top. Type to be flush counter top mounted.

Still thinking.

Those marine stoves have BIG fuel tanks. (1 qt.) Have any smaller single burner stoves ?

Pick some stoves/pots out of my stove store site that would complete a "good trade"

I've been test a new one today. It's the big brother to the StarLyte stove. It holds 2.5oz fuel, larger pot support diameter. Weighs 1.1oz Boiled 3.5 cups of water in my new Conquistador beer can pot with 1.25oz fuel. It's a one piece stove. Has integrated pot support just like the StarLyte. It will be part of a kit that will soon be made available online. Still need to do more tests to be sure of its repeatability.

That one has a top for baking, and is made for charcoal use. Looks new. Big price tag too !

I tried burning charcoal in the Sterno version but wasn't too impressed. Not much heat. I only put a couple of briquets on each side with no fire grate under them. Maybe by adding a grate, and more briquets, it would have produced some usable heat.

I'm going to make the nice new stainless steel change into some nice blue colors It's not going to stay in a box on a shelf I'm gonna burn some pellets in it for sure and also some verticle stacked twigs

I'll do some baking also....maybe even turn it into a "sun' "solar" oven
