I think I probably did the same thing a few days before that one (I did mine in an attempt at a vortex idea) Same day as that last post of mine on that thread. It's really not hard to do - I used a 3lb hammer to start the "fold" with a tubing "mandrel" made from an old air cylinder body. My idea was to fold the neck to the bottom of the bottle. I was going to cut vertical slits in the outside wall and the inside wall - slightly offset from each other to increase the tangential path length of the airflow - below the level of the wick. I did one witha Bud bottle and one with a Venom bottle. But I couldn't get the inner wall to close up next to the outer wall the way I wanted it to.

OK, so after looking at the first can that I flipped I thought "well, this isn't going to be as easy as I thought it would be.".


You've come a long way since then. Nice advancement.

Do you fill the burner through the center or remove the wick holder and then fill. Does the burner function the same at all levels of fuel? Is it easy to light with one ounce of fuel left or do you have to tip it to the side to get the wick wet?

But, that's ok ;) you gave us a lot of insight on the the outside-in stove. Thanks for sharing that.

BTW, if you add say 3 mls to the prime chamber AND have fuel in the donut shaped chamber then you will end up with a REALLY BIG FLAME :DBfire: .

Thank you for the update on the "day tripper".

Have you tried adding steel cut oats to your pot of cold water and bringing it to a boil and boil until flame out(1 min after boil) cover with cozy of some sort and let sit for 5 min or so? That works nice with Bulgur and pasta(for me anyway)

Start making your own brownies and muffins..that always impresses them because they no longer have to do it for you!Unfortunately you'll probably get what I get when I ask if we have baked goodies around the house..
