The entire "WoodGas" backpacking stoves are BS, "Urban Legend" material.
All of the guys that talk "WoodGas" market stoves that require batteries to operate the little fans that make the stoves "work" The zip stove needs batteries to make it work, no batteries, no workie. Not enough air enters at it's base to get it going. The BS stove only burns "wood pellets and paper pellets. A couple of guys in the UK love the pellet fuel.
