Minibulldesign pot ring

Postby zelph » Tue Jun 05, 2012 3:34 pm

This is a photo view of the inside of a Heineken pot that has a minibulldesign pot lip ring installed. We are looking at a top view of the can

There are several people on youtube that are making these kinds of rings.

Notice the undercut portion of the ring. (dark curved line/ area below my finger) The photo was made using a mirror, so what you are seeing is a mirror view under the lip of the ring.

The pot body is wound with white fiberglass wick material.

I post this with a word of caution to all of you that may have purchase a pot with ring installed or a DIY ring to be installed by you.

Moisture, ladened with airborne bacteria can accumilate in that undercut area of the ring. You need to make sure it is wiped dry. I advise not cooking anything in the pot, just boil water.
I was going to put die around the entire ring to see how much seeps in between the wall of the pot and ring. That is still a viable test for me to do.
