Thanks for the photos....gives lots of ideas how to make a van livable. I like the use of the thin natural wood paneling for the walls.

I sent steamjam an email via bplite but have not heard from him. He must really be enjoying his "on the road" adventure. Hope he is OK.

He has the opportunity to be a real life "hobo" of the elite class  He's savvy to railroad way of doing things. He's capable of retrofitting his van with a set of wheels that are used by railroad vehicles to drive on tracks.

For sure, highrails are cool. That bus looks like it could be used for company outings along the rails in some remote areas out west. Attach a caboose to it for use as the kitchen and latrine.

Must be nice to be on the road, fun and fancy free. Let us know when you get settled in with the bees.

Gee!!!! makes me wanna go south and get away from these below zero temps here in Illinois. I'm in the depths of despair, cabin fever big time...need some dirt time quick. :P

Is that a gallon size can on fire that you show in the photo above?

No. That's a small coffee tin wood gas stove I built a few years ago. Its more like a quart sized tin. It's come in quite handy thus far. I'm thinking about jumping on an opportunity of rail inspections duties where I work and I'm going to need a high rail. (It means a few weeks in road inspection class, and a special hat to wear..haha ) I could just go and buy a high rail equipped truck..... but I don't want a truck tho. BORING. I want something cool.

Im thinking: I could pay the money to high rail something like this:

that is cool...soo cool. I thought it was a chevy at 1st glance . Never knew they made such a beauty. What was the aluminum bodied car that Nash made???/

Yesterday there was a photo of a VW Bus Highrail in google photos but it's gone today :(

Also big bummer when I tried to attach more photos...this anouncement popped up

Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached.

Edited to say:

Studebaker "Avanti" was the car I was thinking of not a Nash made auto duh!!! The Avanti had an alluminum body. Made in Canada...Studebaker formerly of USA.

IMHO (I'm going o catch flack for this) the Studebaker HAWK is a much more timeless design then Avanti.

Avanti's always reminds me of cybermen from classic Dr. Who.
