Start a space shuttle engine?
Maybe ferrocerium rod is "not for export".

Yes, they need exterior sparks instead of internal. Think "big sparkplug" for an external rocket.

Ferrocerium is made overseas and imported here.

Re: SPARK-LITE Fire Starter
I recently had a guy from Germany ask if I could purchase a 1/2" diameter ferrocerium rod and send it to him. I can't remember the specific name brand. It's not available in Europe.
Huh?

Re: SPARK-LITE Fire Starter
1/2" diameter, that is big enough to start the engines on the space shuttle launching rockets. Did you know that ferrocerium sparks are what's used to start the engines???? You've seen the engines start up a few times, ever notice the massive amount of sparks?????? You learned it right here on bplite

Probably just too many stairs and you haven't done enough hiking lately..sitting around playing with hammocks in greenhouses and fires...

Just wanted to bump this up as a reminder how well these work as fire starters. Soon well be able to get out and hit the trails here in the Midwest. 2 weeks and I'm on my way out to southern Illinois where it's going to be warmer and the flowers should be bloomin
