interesting. thanks Zelph.

in the Pacific Northwest, and British Columbia coast, the early Native peoples made dugout canoes from cedar trees; while, in the Arctic, the construction method was "Skin-on-Frame". pretty engenious to use the materials that are available.

note that in the video clip the forward paddler is using a Greenland style paddle, but is too high off the water to get the entire blade in.

Did you see the photo of the dugout canoe used by the loggers in one of the photos that Realityguy linked us to a few days ago. It looked like 15 guys were in it. Made of cedar I think.
