That's good for Me too, because I love talking about this stuff.
I think the reason that Nobody suggested the Caldera Cone is because it really doesn't
meet the criteria of Your OP. They cost about 100.00, and
a lot of people don't think that they pack very well. They don't speed up Your
boil time enough to justify the cost and trouble. A well fitted foil wind screen will work about as good.
The Trangia that Ridgerunner suggested is a Tough little stove, but You would have to
carry a Pot Stand to use it. It's very reliable, but not the fastest stove. It's heavy too.
In fact, No alcohol stove is going to give You the 3 Minuite boil times You're probably
Getting with the Pocket Rocket and Titan Kettle.
I'm not sure why You don't like Pepsi Can stoves. The only one I've
ever had fail on Me was made from cheap store brand cans, and I had too
much weight on it.
Honestly if I were You, I would learn how to make a Pepsi Type stove.
I would make it the open top design, with the burner holes on the side of the stove
so that I could just set the pot on the stove, and not have to carry a pot stand.
I would make a stove from pepsi cans, and a stove from Red Bull cans, and see
which one worked best with My pots. Then You would always have a new stove when You need it.
You could also learn to make a Super Cat stove. They are easy to make with a paper punch
and a can of Cat Food, or Potted Meat. They boil water fast too.
