I have two suggestions:
First: any tool of the woodturning crafts
Second: A tool that helps you sharpening chisels or similar tools (like plane...) you put it between the two jaws (if that's the right word...) and then go to your sharpening maschine. it's difficult for me to explain in english, but something similiar i'm using

Bye,
Markus

Welcome Markussw, I know of the tool you speak of. I used one when I was in school learning to do the work with wood.

Not the right answer I'm looking for.

Monday I will give the correct answer.

Hey, it's really a nice game...
I have one more: It's a tool you can fix "block"(?)-letters with to have an (die) stamp. Wether used with ink like old gutenberg ones' or heated for f.e. wood.

Good night markus

A bookbinder's blocking press is what this tool is known to be. Because it's made of brass I would speculate it was heated and used for heat embossing leather book bindings. A press which heats blocks and impresses lettering. designs, etc., into the covers of books.

Here's what Markussw said it was: by markussw on Sun Feb 15, 2009 3:11 pm

Markussw gave it his best last guess and it was the correct one that I was looking for. Very well done Marckus.

There were many good gueses by others, well done to you all.

Markuss, send me an address in a PM so I can send you your stove.

Nice, thnaks :D

Strange where you get these ideas. During a concert of a norwegian singer who was singing old norwegian folk style songs I got this one. Was actually a nice one, but if you don'T understand something an just have to be there toughts are going their own way....

Nice evening,
Markus
