Site Updates Planned for Today (Completed Jan. 30, 2010)
The site will be getting some updates installed today.
The site may respond slowly at times while everything is backed up.
During the installation of the updates the site will not be accessible for a short period.
Please be patient and bear with us while these upgrades are made to BPLite.
P.S. -
Depending on how things go this notice may extend to tomorrow as well.

The updates to the site software are complete and stable!
However, there is a problem with the old style template. Occasionally there are errors popping up. For example, when logging into the site the text becomes very large and two error codes are displayed at the top of the page.
Until I can sort out this style template issue the board has been reverted to the default blue "Pro Silver" template.
Likely, I will need to go with an entirely different style template or make changes to the Pro Silver template.

What would Demetri Martin do or say about the situation

I think this is fitting considering the complexity of the site software and the general topic of discussion on this site.zelph wrote:What would Demetri Martin do or say about the situation

Good old Demetri has a good line for all situations........"go outside" would be located in fine print, lower right hand corner

Re: Site Updates Planned for Today
The fine print on the puzzle is a good idea Zelph.
The site updates are complete!
Included in the update is a new anti-spam measure.
I still need to develop a new style template for this version of the software though. The old style template will not work.

Looks great!
I still can't figure out how to make the URL link hidden behind the name.
I am used to highlighting the text, getting a pop-up, and putting the URL in the pop-up.
I guess, I am just too "dyslexic" to put the name where it goes and the URL where it goes properly.

Regarding the update, it seems that the view active topics feature doesn't work like it used to. Before, when using this option, all posts would show up in the order in which they were entered. I see that more than one post for today does not show for me with this option now.

Re: Site Updates Planned for Today (Completed Jan. 30, 2010)
I find having to hit the "board index" every time and then "view active posts"..kind of a pita but I'm getting used to it.Just one more step getting back to what's newly posted....It might be better to have the option "view active posts" after "view your posts" on the same line(if possible),eliminate that "board index" step...I think most people would rather jump back into a discussion rather than "view your own posts".....
I think one of the things that drives me crazy are the 'times" shown for the posts. It might be better to have everything switched to one time zone(Zelph's) so people have a better reference of when things were posted. The "times posted" seem all out of whack to me.I don't know how others feel about that...
I'm one of the fortunate west coasters that when dealing with ebay everything corresponded to my correct pacific time, but as far as the site here,I could relate to any one time zone better than several..On the other hand..maybe I'm just looking at it cock-eyed...
I'm assuming with ebay being around as long as it is that most people are more accustomed to dealing with a site on a different time zone.Being in the pacific zone,I've never dealt with ebay in a different time zone but assume most people have to calculate the different "hour times" to their own..unless ebay has done something to "set the clock time to your own zone".
Whatever..it works still..that's what counts!
