I'm using some random thicker aluminum I cut off of some particular building material, it's not Al flashing, but it's probably similar stuff.
I'm going to use it for something that will be immersed in something that will be ingested.. Is this a good idea? Or do I need to hold out for a suitable piece of Al off something implicitly "food-grade"?
I tried googling this, but there's just fluff.
I know some metals might contain all sorts of random shit, this seems like fairly pure Al, but I'm not expert..
Input?
Thanks!

Re: Aluminum Toxicity
while i can't say for certain that it will be harmful, i can't say for certain that it won't.
personally, i wouldn't take the chance.
we're pretty fussy (at work) about useing only 3000 series aluminum in anything food related.

Re: Aluminum Toxicity
Construction grade materials have all kinds of high potency coatings to make them weather resistant. Don't eat the coatings
