Here's my first attempt at a wick stove. I've learned so much since I joined this site. There are some pretty ingenious members here!
Anyway...all it is, is a small stainless steel snap link lid spice container. I like the idea for a wick stove because you can fill it with
alcohol and if you don't end up using it all, you can just close the lid and its water tight. No spilling. Not a particular hot stove, but I like.
Below is a link to a video I made of it. Check it out.

Yeah, I made one of those. That Tinny is pretty smart!
I'd like mine to go a little higher though. Guess I'll have to butcher a pie plate or something like that.

Just a quick note: Watch how quick and easy it is to light the stove and how much output of heat there is. If the pot of water was on it it would b well on it's way. Quick heat. No worries of tipping over the burner and losing fuel. That adds new dimensions to cooking in the vestebule of your tent.

Nicely done Markheit. Looks a little cold up there in michigan. It is suppose to be near zero here in SW Ohio in the morning. Saw most of your utube video. After 2 hours of downloading
, a incoming phone call booted me off line with still a little over a minute of your video remaining. DIAL-UP SUCKS !!! I did get to see your simmer cover. Snuffed the flame down nice and low. Boy, this stove tinkerin' is fun!

wonder how much fuel was used to saturate the wick. She was still flaming strong 8 minutes into video. The sweet thing is that it makes no difference how much you use as long as you can seal it back up and store it. What is the fuel capacity and how long of a simmer can you get after reaching a boil ?Just a quick note: Watch how quick and easy it is to light the stove and how much output of heat there is. The amount of wick can be varied to hold just one ounce of fuel for the initial fill up.
