Another Pellet Tin Stove

Found 6 packs of these stamped plugs at the thrift store yesterday and thought I might be able to use them. I don't know their intended use. This is a simple stove. I snipped around the edge of the plug and turned the burner fins slightly up. Then I drilled a few fill holes in the bottom . I then wrapped flat oil lamp wick around the inside edge of the 177mm. pellet tin. The plug fits very tightly into the tin. Was able to use the previously made simmer ring for this burner as well.

Nice find, they might be "Sliding Door" hardware. Recessed door knobs if you will.

Do you fill it just till the alcohol puddles a bit in the center and then light the visible alcohol?

I like it, even has a screw on lid, neat design Ridgrunner.

Zelph, I used the rounded end of a ballpeen hammer to raise the center of the plug so fuel flows to the fill ports on the edges. I am trying the furnace oil filter material under the center of the plug to absorb fuel. Will see how it holds up over time. It can not take direct flame but it has survived about 6 test burns. Fill fuel till it puddles, light match , good to go.

I thought that hammer thing down in the Mystery Tool was a ballpeen of sorts.

Cotton balls might even work under the plug for a length of time.
