That's funny, I never even knew this thread existed.

The paper crimper actually works really well if you don't squeeze as hard. Otherwise your foil material may change direction on you and you end up with a rainbow shaped windscreen.

Can't say how the fish scaler compares.

Sudden, the paper crimper is easier right now for two reasons. 1) the crimp is much smaller and requires less work on the tools part. 2) I have one of the fish rollers just seting in the tray. It needs to be permanently mounted so there is no chance of it floating or moving out of position.
Both tools require the foil stock to be started perfectly square or they will move on you.

Sure, corregated metal has been around forever but the application of using it for a windscreen for its rigid properties has not. I would venture to guess that Zelph was the originator of that application of corregated aluminum unless you can show me different.

What do you consider heavy? It's thicker aluminum than most "windscreens"..For comparison :each edge is folded over 1/4" (4" unfolded,3-1/2" folded)x20" long weighs 33grams...I don't consider it heavy..but you might.If I roll it,I could probably stand on the roll.You can still punch holes with a regular paper punch.Because of the recent rise in the value of aluminum,I have no idea of the current price of the stuff,but I usually pay $2 for an open roll that is still probably 15-20' long.The "used" price is right!
It doesn't roll up as fine as the thin stuff..
