Re: Price of Heet
Yeah, right.... like 40 bottles would even last me a month!

Re: Price of Heet
I kept track of how much fuel I've used in my testing but stopped counting after my 11th gallon. Most of it was denatured.

Actually, I just got my wood burner prototype done last week and have barely even used an alcohol stove recently. I think my Heet bill will be going down.
Re: Price of Heet
Speaking of the Yellow container (methanol) Heet:
I like my MK1-UL and Woodgaz woodstoves, so much, I am re-thinking the small and lightweight alcohol stoves. I am thinking, I will reserve those for backup, for emergency kits, and, for UL backpacking.
I really like how compact the Woodgas folding woodstove is packed in the Tyvek cover.
I trimmed down the Tyvek cover to shirtpocket size. It is authentically a pocket stove, now.
ref: http://zenstoves.net/Stoves.htmzenstoves reports, You may also be able to purchase this for around US$3 per gallon at race shops that sell it as race fuel.

Zen stoves must have a really good source for the racing fuel. Look at the price for this on line stuff:

Re: Price of Heet
I went to Harbor Freight on the other side of town so I stopped at a WallyWorld over there and found 10 4packs. That should get me through the summer for sure with what I already have in reserve.

RR, always good to have a reserve. Makes good campfire starter in cold damp weather.

Was watching a video and they mentioned shopping for fuel in the paint department instead of the automotive department.
