Is the StarLyte 4.5 XL the StarLyte Eureka?

Re: StarLyte XL 4.5
I'm thinking it might be for me. I made 5 more today, 2 didn't turn out well. I'm perfecting the process of making them. The burner weight is constant, .9oz. I no longer need a fuel bottle to hold 4.5 ounces of fuel, just store it in the burner.ConnieD wrote:Is the StarLyte 4.5 XL the StarLyte Eureka?

Re: StarLyte XL 4.5
I am so interested in that, especially if you have a lid.
My StarLytes w/lid fit in my pocket.
I am interested!
If it has a simmer, and, and fits cookware... it will be perfect.
Have a small wide-mouth water bottle. Keep the windscreen around it. How about that!

Yes, I have tight fitting lids for them to preserve unused fuel. No fuel escapes, just like the original Starlytes with the green lid.ConnieD wrote:I am so interested in that, especially if you have a lid.

I'll make carbon felt simmer discs for them.

I hope you put this up on your store, soon.
Did you know titanium sheeting can be spot-welded for a windscreen?

I think it was on backpackinglight.com I saw a post saying titanium could be spot welded. I'll have to try it.ConnieD wrote:I hope you put this up on your store, soon.

Not sure when I'll have some ready for the store. Need to test with simmer felt pad and stainless pot support.

Re: StarLyte XL 4.5
.9 oz per unit?
I though they were 1.5oz? Getting lighter or is the lid the extra half ounce?
I know its dumb, but I'm one of those BPL guys, and the extra ounce over my original Starlyte was discouraging because it wouldn't really offset the weight of my fuel bottle. .4 ounces heavier though sounds a lot better, particularly considering the jump in efficiency you've noted with the larger burner.

Backpackinglight?
I read that in the description at the Suluk46 website for his titanium windscreen.
